Mental Health Works
Mental Health Works is an initiative of the Canadian Mental Health Association,
Ontario.
Launched in 2001 as a partnership project involving the voluntary sector,
government and business, Mental Health Works has emerged as a unique program
that responds to a growing concern about mental health in the workplace.
Mental Health Works helps organizations to recognize the important role they
can play in supporting the mental health of their employees and how they can
respond appropriately when employees experience mental health problems.
Mental Health Works:
- Provides organizations with information about early identification,
prevention and accommodation
- Develops and distributes kits for employers and employees
- Designs and delivers customized training
- Develops networks to exchange strategies for addressing mental health issues
in the workplace
- Is a one-stop source for information about what is happening in Canada and
around the world in the area of mental health and work
Mental Health Works has partnered with Entec Corporation to conduct action research on the subject of mental health in the workplace. This research is designed to study the connection between specific workplace practices and leadership behaviors on employee mental health and to recommend specific follow up actions.
