Level 2 Employee Engagement Survey

The Entec Employee Engagement survey was created by a team comprising of experts in leadership, organizational development, strategic management, human resource management and psychiatry. We developed a model of employee engagement first, tested the model with several organizations and than developed the individual questions for each part of the model.

Employee engagement measures the extent to which employees are passionate about their work, emotionally committed to their company and to their coworkers. Therefore there are two sides to employee engagement: the functioning of the organization and the inner functioning of the employee. In order to accurately measure employee engagement one needs to measure key organizational factors as well as key employee wellness factors. We measure employee engagement by combining our Employee Satisfaction survey with a module that measures employee Mental and Physical Energy. Mental energy measures factors that are typically associated with burnout. This is key because research has shown that Mental energy is the only wellness aspect of emotional well-being that links directly to organizational practices. This adds only 17 questions to the Employee Satisfaction survey. But this addition allows you to view employees from a holistic perspective and this leads to much more precise direction for follow up implementation.

As with the employee satisfaction survey the questions were designed so that they:

  • Lead clearly to follow up implementation
  • Can be answered easily by multiple ethnic groups and a wide variety of educational levels

The questions were tested and re-tested for reliability and validity.
